Lok Sabha Election 2024: Mandro (Sahibganj) – Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar inspected the polling stations located in the inaccessible area of Mandro in Sahibganj district on Friday. During this, he went to villages and met senior and disabled voters. Meeting 92 year old Khalil Ansari, a disabled person from Badkhori village, he got information about his name being in the voter list. He told that earlier he lived in Purnia district of Bihar, but now he is living in Badkhori. Khalil told that due to his name not being in the voter list, he is not able to exercise his franchise. On this, the Chief Electoral Officer directed to add Khalil’s name to the voter list. Khalil Ansari will vote for the first time in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Inspected polling station number 4 of Sahibganj’s upgraded high school Amjhor South, Mandro and observed the minimum facilities available there.
Took information about the work being done by BLO
The Chief Electoral Officer took stock of various polling stations. He took information from the BLOs present at the polling stations about the minimum facilities for voters and the work being done for voter awareness. While observing the list of members of the polling station awareness group and the voter list, he prepared the list of polling station awareness group and volunteers separately, collected Form-6 related to adding the name of a new voter in the voter list and started the process of adding the name. Along with this, after finalizing the voter list, it was asked to complete the process related to removing the names of Absent, Displaced and Dead (ASD) from the voter list in time.

Took information about facilities available at polling stations
The Chief Electoral Officer also took information about the seating of the polling officer, presiding officer and others in the polling room and the place marked for keeping the EVM/VVPAT. While removing the shortcomings of minimum necessary facilities at the polling stations, he directed to install fans in the polling booths and construct sheds at the polling stations in view of the heat for the voters. The Chief Electoral Officer held a meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Electoral Officer, Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and other officials in the auditorium of Borio block of Sahibganj and immediately rectified the shortcomings of minimum facilities and election preparations at the polling stations.
