Lok Sabha Election: 21.95 lakh cash recovered from car in Latehar, police got success during vehicle checking.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Bariatu (Latehar) – The police administration is determined to make the Lok Sabha elections 2024 fair and fear-free. In the same sequence, during vehicle checking at the check post near Bariatu police station gate of inter-district border area (Latehar-Chatra) on Friday morning, the police recovered a large amount of cash. This investigation operation is being conducted under the leadership of Bariatu police station in-charge Raja Dilawar under the monitoring of Balumath sub-divisional police officer Ashutosh Kumar Satyam. During the investigation operation, cash worth Rs 21 lakh 95 thousand was recovered from a car (JH 02BM-3719).

Continuous checking is going on at the check post since March 22.
SDPO Ashutosh Kumar Satyam informed that on the instructions of Latehar Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan, investigation campaign is going on continuously at the check post since March 22 regarding the prevention of money power and drugs in the Lok Sabha elections-2024. On Friday morning, a car going from Simaria towards Balumath was searched. Cash worth Rs 21 lakh 95 thousand was recovered from the black bag kept in it. He said that while it was seized, information about it has been given to the senior police officer, monitoring committee and Income Tax Department. Whose money is this and what is it for? Investigation is going on at all points. If a person has to carry more than 50 thousand rupees in cash, then apart from his identity card, he will need the slip related to withdrawal of money and where the money will be used. Proof of this will also have to be kept. Apart from Electoral Registration Officer cum BDO Nandkumar Ram, Assistant Sub Inspector Dwarika Nath Pandey and armed forces personnel were present on the occasion.

Till now Latehar police has seized Rs 26 lakh 11 thousand.
SDPO said that since the implementation of Model Code of Conduct, Latehar Police has recovered a total of Rs 26 lakh 11 thousand in cash. Apart from this, opium, doda, narcotics drugs and ganja etc. worth about Rs 3 crore 60 lakh have also been seized. A total of five weapons (firearms) and 19 live cartridges have also been recovered by the police. This seizure is a big achievement for the police after the code of conduct.
