Lok Sabha Election 2024: Veteran JMM leader preparing to contest elections from Lohardaga, India alliance may face a big blow

Ranchi: JMM MLA from Bishnupur Chamra Linda may adopt a rebellious attitude in the India alliance. Shri Linda is preparing to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Lohardaga. On Thursday, he applied for No Objection Certificate (NOC) in the Assembly. This is part of the electoral process. Here, Congress has made Sukhdev Bhagat the candidate in alliance with Lohardaga. BJP has made Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon its candidate from this seat. After Chamra Linda enters the election fray, the contest here may become triangular. JMM was adamant for Lohardaga seat in seat sharing for Chamra Linda, but Congress fielded its candidate. On this, JMM’s Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya has said that if Congress has declared the candidate, then it should also guarantee victory.

Here in this matter, JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that our claim was on Lohardaga for many reasons. As far as JMM is concerned, it will follow the coalition dharma there. On JMM’s Chamra Linda being adamant on contesting the elections, he said that if anyone contests from any other party or as an independent, then he will be dealt with as per the constitution of the organisation. Meanwhile, the party’s efforts to persuade JMM MLA Chamra Linda have intensified. A party minister has been given the responsibility of convincing him. On the other hand, there is news that Chamra Linda is adamant to contest the elections at any cost.

The Inter State Coordination Committee meeting regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections was held on Thursday evening through video conferencing. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from Jharkhand Police DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, other police officers participated in the meeting. On the other hand, Chief Secretaries and DGPs of Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh governments also participated. During the meeting, mutual coordination and control of law and order in the interstate border areas was reviewed. The action being taken against Naxalites and criminals was also reviewed. During the meeting, additional police force was deployed in the check posts established in the border areas to increase the activity of central paramilitary forces in Naxal affected areas, to identify criminals and miscreants and take action and share information, to stop the transportation of illegal liquor and cash. It has been decided to deploy. Apart from this, it has also been decided to ban smuggling of arms and drugs.
