The Election Commission has decided to hold elections in Bihar in the first phase in Gaya Suraksha, Jamui (Suraksha), Nawada and Aurangabad on April 19. These are the seats where RJD and its allies stood second last time in 2019. In a close contest, NDA was able to win with less votes. This time there is a possibility of a tough competition between both the alliances. In Gaya, former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was HAM’s candidate from the Grand Alliance. He was defeated by JDU’s Vijay Kumar. This time also we party is demanding this seat in NDA. BJP’s Sushil Kumar Singh won the Aurangabad seat but in a close contest, the difference between victory and defeat was only 71,325 votes. Upendra Prasad of HAM, who stood second, had got 3,58,611 votes.

The seats of the last two phases will be decisive

Similarly, this time the seats in the last two phases will prove to be decisive for the NDA and the Grand Alliance. In the last two phases, voting will be held on sixteen Lok Sabha seats. All these seats are currently in NDA’s kitty. BJP and JDU have equal stake in these. BJP has control over eight seats. There are JDU MPs on the remaining eight seats. Grand alliance candidates faced defeat on all these seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
