Lok Sabha Election 2024 Mathura, where Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s bail was once confiscated

Lok Sabha Election 2024- Mathura has currently become a stronghold of BJP, but there was a time when Atal Bihari Vajpayee had got his deposit forfeited on the Bharatiya Jan Sangh ticket. This year was 1957 and independent Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh had become MP from here by getting about 95 thousand votes. Today is the time when BJP is preparing to score a hat-trick here (Lok Sabha Election 2024).

Hema Malini has won twice
In 2014, Hema Malini defeated RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary from Mathura Lok Sabha seat. After this, in 2019, Hema Malini once again won the election from Mathura by getting 671293 votes. He had defeated Kunwar Narendra Singh of SP-RLD-BSP alliance. Congress stood third here. Independent candidates had won the Mathura seat in 1952 and 1957. Congress won in 1962, 1967, 1971. Janata Party won this seat in 1977 and 1980. After this, Congress won again in 1984. After this, in 1989, Mathura seat went to Janata Dal. After this, BJP won the Mathura seat in 1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999, while Congress won the Mathura seat in 2004. BJP-RLD alliance was formed in 2009, in which Jayant Chaudhary was elected MP from Mathura.

Mathura’s caste equation
There are more than 18 lakh voters in Mathura. There are maximum number of Jat voters here, whose number is around 3.5 lakh. Brahmins and Kshatriyas are at second place with the number of three lakhs each. There are approximately 1.5 lakh Jatavs and Muslims here. Yadav voters are also around 70 thousand. Out of the 17 MPs elected here so far, 14 have been from the Jat community.

Shri Krishna’s birth place and Idgah issue is hot
Apart from development, welfare, employment and other issues, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Idgah issue can also have a huge impact on the Mathura Lok Sabha elections. The Hindu side has also gone to the court demanding a survey in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case. Right now the hearing of this case is going on continuously. Anyway, Ayodhya, Kashi Mathura are on the agenda of BJP.
