Lok Sabha Election 2024 Know the condition of Deshwali region of Haryana

Lok Sabha Election 2024: The date of Lok Sabha elections has been announced. After this, the discussion on state politics and important seats has intensified. Deshwali belt is important for political parties in politically important Haryana, where there is going to be a multi-cornered contest in the Lok Sabha elections. The ruling BJP in the state has been trying for many years to weaken the Congress in this Jat-dominated area, traditionally considered a stronghold. Rohtak and Sonipat Lok Sabha constituencies fall in this region.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won seven Lok Sabha seats and had to face defeat only in Rohtak. Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats while Congress won from Rohtak. At that time, after failing to break the Congress’s hold on Rohtak, the BJP increased its activities in the area with the aim of weakening the Congress in the stronghold of the Hooda family. The state headquarters of BJP is also in Rohtak.

Last time BJP had won all the seats

The BJP had won all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and had breached the “bastions” of major political houses. BJP had won in Rohtak, considered the stronghold of Hooda family, where the then MP Deependra Singh Hooda had to taste defeat. BJP had also defeated Bhupendra Singh Hooda, who had contested from Sonipat. After the crushing defeat in the 2019 elections, Congress is hoping to give a tough fight to BJP this time. It has signed a seat sharing agreement with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under which AAP will contest from Kurukshetra seat.

Another challenge for BJP in Deshwali belt and North Haryana

Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda said on this alliance, both will fight together more strongly. Another challenge for the BJP in the Deshwali belt and North Haryana is that there has been a recent fierce farmer movement in this region against the three agricultural laws that have been repealed. Ambala, Kurukshetra and Karnal constituencies come in North Haryana. In the last general elections, BJP had also won from Sirsa in Bagri belt of the state where at one time BJP was considered weak.

Former MP Ashok Tanwar recently joined BJP from AAP.

Senior leader and former MP Ashok Tanwar has recently joined BJP from AAP and this may also boost the morale of BJP. The challenge of Congress in Southern Haryana, known as Ahirwal Belt, is not expected to be easy. Union Minister from here and MP from Gurugram, Rao Inderjit Singh is a prominent leader of BJP. Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had recently said that BJP is trying to repeat its 2019 performance by winning all 10 seats in the state.

Voting on 102 seats in the first phase on April 19

BJP leaders claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Center and the party’s alliance in Haryana have taken the country and the state on the path of progress, while Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that many issues like inflation and unemployment have not been resolved. Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases. In the first phase, voting will be held on 102 seats on April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
