Lok Sabha Election 2024 IAS Deepak Kumar becomes the new Principal Secretary Home of UP

Lucknow: IAS Deepak Kumar has been made the new Principal Secretary Home of UP. Presently he is Additional Chief Secretary in the Finance Department. The Election Commission of India on Monday ordered the removal of Sanjay Prasad as Principal Secretary Home due to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The Commission had given instructions to remove the Home Secretary and several DGPs of six states including UP. After this, Deepak Kumar has been posted as Principal Secretary Home. The UP government had sent the names of three IAS to the Election Commission. Of these, permission has been given for the posting of Deepak Kumar. Deepak Kumar is of 1990 batch.

Home secretaries of six states were removed
The Election Commission of India had given instructions to remove the Home Secretary of UP, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. All of them also had the charge of CM office. Due to this, instructions were given to remove everyone. UP Home Secretary Sanjay Prasad is among the special officers of CM Yogi Adityanath. After the removal of the Home Secretary, he has been made the CMO and Principal Secretary of the Information Department.

Know when is voting
Lok Sabha elections are to be held in seven phases in UP. The first phase of elections is to be held on April 19. The Commission has made complete preparations for fair elections. Under this, instructions have been given to remove the Home Secretary. Now top police officers can also be removed.

April 19 – In the first phase, Kairana, Nagina, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, Muzaffar Nagar, Bijnor, Rampur, Moradabad.
26 April – Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Aligarh in the second phase.
7 May- Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Amla, Bareilly in the third phase.
13 May- Shahjahanpur, Kheri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur, Bahraich in the fourth phase.
20 May – In the fifth phase, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Banda, Fatehpur, Mohanlalganj, Jhansi, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Kaushambi, Barabanki, Faizabad, Kaiserganj, Gonda.
25 May – In the sixth phase, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkarnagar, Shravasti, Dumariaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Fish City and Bhadohi.
June 1- Varanasi, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Robertsganj in the seventh phase.
