Lok Sabha Election 2024: DM and SP changed in 5 states including Bihar, Jharkhand

Lok Sabha Election 2024: In a release issued by the Election Commission, it was said that during the meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, the Commission took this decision as part of regular review. All the transferred officers have been asked to immediately hand over charge to their junior officers. The Commission also said that the officers who have resigned will not be given any election duty till the completion of the Lok Sabha elections. The respective state governments have been directed to send a panel of names of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the Commission and the ‘shortlisted’ people will be appointed in place of the transferred officers. .

Officials who were transferred in Jharkhand

SP Deoghar transferred
Instructions were given by the Commission to fill the vacant posts of SP (Rural) Ranchi, DIG Palamu, IG Dumka and send a panel of officials.

Officials who were transferred in Bihar

DM and SP of Bhojpur district transferred
DM and SP of Nawada district transferred

Officials who were transferred in Assam
Udalgiri DM transferred

Officials who were transferred in Odisha

DM of Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur
SP of Angul, Baharampur, Khurda and Rourkela
DCP Cuttack and IG Central were changed.

Officials who were transferred in Andhra Pradesh

DMs of Krishna, Anantapuramu and Tirupati districts changed
SPs of Prakasam, Palanadu, Chittoor, Anathapuramu and Nellore districts were changed.
