Lok Sabha Election 2024: In the first phase of voting in West Bengal, not only the central forces but also the state police will take charge of the security. election Commission (Election Commission) will deploy more than 10,000 state police at three centers in the first phase. Police from various districts of North Bengal will reach the centers at least three days before voting. In the first phase, voting is taking place at three centers in Bengal. Voting will be held in Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar of North Bengal on April 19. According to the commission, a total of 10,875 policemen will be deployed for those three assembly constituencies. Of these, 3,957 will be armed police. Police personnel will be asked to reach the designated centers by April 16, three days before voting.

The total number of booths in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar is 5,814. To conduct polling with full central forces, 16 to 18 companies of forces are required in each assembly constituency. After that, the Commission deployed 50 companies, 27 companies and finally another 100 companies. In the first phase, along with that force, the state police will also take charge of the security.
