By-elections on six seats of Himachal

Voting for six assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh – Dharamshala, Lahaul-Spiti, Sujanpur, Badsar, Gagret and Kutlahar will be held on June 1 along with the Lok Sabha elections. Six Congress MLAs Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajinder Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chaitanya Sharma and Davinder Kumar Bhutto were disqualified for violating the whip issued for being present in the House and voting in favor of the government during the budget. was given. By-elections will be held on Agiaon in Bihar, Duddhi in Uttar Pradesh and Baranagar assembly seats in West Bengal on June 1.

Agiaon seat had fallen vacant after the disqualification of Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) MLA Manoj Manji. Manji was found guilty in a nine-year-old murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment. Trinamool Congress MLA from Baranagar Tapas Roy resigned to join BJP. BJP MLA from Duddhi Ram Dular has been disqualified after being convicted in a rape case. In Uttar Pradesh, by-election will be held on May 25 for the Gansadi assembly seat vacant after the death of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Shiv Pratap Yadav. By-elections will be held on Gandey seat of Jharkhand and Lucknow East seat of Uttar Pradesh on May 20. The Gandey seat fell vacant after the resignation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed, while the Lucknow East seat fell vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Ashutosh Tandon.

By-elections will be held in UP and Telangana on May 13.

By-elections for Dadraul Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh and Secunderabad Cantonment seat in Telangana will be held on May 13. These seats have become vacant due to the demise of BJP MLA Manvendra Singh (Dadraul) and BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samiti) MLA Lasya Nandita Sayana (Secunderabad Cantonment). By-elections will be held in Shorapur in Karnataka and Bhagwanagola in West Bengal on May 7. Shorapur seat was vacant due to the death of Congress MLA Raja Venkatappa Naik and Bhagwangola seat was vacant due to the death of Trinamool MLA Idris Ali. Voting will be held on Bagidaura seat of Rajasthan and Akola West seat of Maharashtra on 26 April. Bagidaura seat has fallen vacant due to the resignation of Congress MLA Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya, who has joined the BJP. Akola West seat has become vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Govardhan Mangilal Sharma. Voting will be held on April 19 for Tripura’s Ramnagar seat, which fell vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Surjit Dutta. By-election will also be held on April 19 for the Vilavancode seat of Tamil Nadu, which fell vacant due to the resignation of Congress MLA S Vidyadharini.
