Lok Sabha Election 2024: After Bihar, INDIA alliance is on the verge of breaking in Maharashtra too

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam said, the arbitrary manner in which Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced candidates on 4 out of 6 Lok Sabha seats of Mumbai, I have input that they will also declare candidates on the 5th seat i.e. North Mumbai. About to announce the name of the candidate. There is severe resentment among the Congress cadre due to this. Mumbai Congress leadership is very worried. Congress voters will also be troubled by this. I would like to demand from our top leadership that they should take a stand against Shiv Sena’s decision. The second thing is that from North West Mumbai, where I was presenting a strong candidate, the candidate whom Shiv Sena has fielded had taken bribe from a contractor in the Covid Khichdi scam. ED is investigating this.

Shiv Sena made Khichdi thief its candidate: Sanjay Nirupam

Sanjay Nirupam alleged that Shiv Sena has deliberately fielded Khichdi Chor. Congress workers have been hurt by this. I am also worried. I am sad that our interlocutors did not present the Congress Party’s position strongly. Shiv Sena (UBT) has tried to suppress Congress. This effort is a part of the conspiracy to eliminate Congress in Mumbai. Congress leadership will have to take a stand. There are only two options – first, break the alliance. Second, have a friendly fight. Congress should field candidates on those seats on which there is dispute between us and a solution has not been found.

Shiv Sena (UBT) released the first list of 17 candidates.

Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena on Wednesday released its first list of 17 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 and said it will contest 22 seats out of the total seats in the state. The party has declared former Union Minister Anant Geete as its candidate from Raigarh and Arvind Sawant from South Mumbai Lok Sabha seat. The party has re-fielded all five outgoing MPs who were with party chief Uddhav Thackeray after the split in the organization in 2022. These MPs are Arvind Sawant (South Mumbai), Rajan Vichare (Thane), Vinayak Raut (Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg), Omraje Nimbalkar (Dharashiv) and Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani).
