Lok Sabha Election 2024: 19 lakh voters of Jamui will vote in the first phase, 1900 booths will be built.

jamui, The Election Commission announced the Lok Sabha general elections on Saturday, with which the Model Code of Conduct has come into force. Voting will be held in the first phase for Jamui Lok Sabha. District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar gave information regarding this in a press conference late on Saturday evening. DM said that in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting will be held on April 19 for six assembly constituencies of Jamui Lok Sabha. A notification regarding this will be issued on March 20 (Wednesday) and with this, nomination for the Lok Sabha elections will begin. Candidates can file their nominations till March 28 (Thursday). Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done till 30th March, while candidates can withdraw their names till 02nd April. After this, the candidates will be able to campaign in their favor and till 48 hours before the elections, the candidates can campaign in their favor. Voting will be held for the first phase on 19th April and counting of votes will be done on 04th June. The District Magistrate said that many preparations have been made for the elections. The District Magistrate said that the Model Code of Conduct will be in force regarding the elections, during which instructions have been given to remove all the banners and posters within 48 hours.

Rules will have to be kept in mind during elections

The District Magistrate said that during elections, political party candidates cannot spend more than Rs 10,000 in cash per day. Use of religious places, temples, mosques, churches, hospitals etc. for election campaigning is prohibited. The DM said that at the time of nomination, only three vehicles can enter within the 100 meter radius of the returning officer’s chamber. Only a maximum of five people can go to the returning officer’s chamber for nomination. He told that at the time of scrutiny only a maximum of four people can go into the chamber of an elected official. Campaigning and holding political meetings are prohibited 48 hours before the end of voting. It is prohibited to put up posters or write on the wall of someone’s house without their permission. During the campaign, loudspeakers can be used only from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm. For this, permission from the concerned sub-divisional officer will be required. On the day of voting, a voter helpline camp can be set up by a candidate or any party outside the 200 meter radius, in which only one table and two chairs can be kept.

19 lakh five thousand voters will cast their vote

District Magistrate said that this time 19 lakh 05 thousand voters will participate in the Lok Sabha elections in total six assembly constituencies of Jamui Lok Sabha. In this, maximum number of voters will participate in Jhajha Legislative Assembly and least number of voters will participate in Sheikhpura Assembly this time. DM said that in Jamui Lok Sabha, there are 09 lakh 96 thousand 2 hundred 46 male voters while a total of 19 lakh 05 thousand 487 voters including 09 lakh 9 thousand 1 hundred 90 female voters will exercise their franchise. He said that this year 51 third gender voters will also exercise their franchise. DM said that 339212 voters in Tarapur Assembly, 264100 in Shekhpura, 309487 in Sikandra Assembly, 323739 in Jamui Assembly, 341989 in Jhajha Assembly and 326960 voters in Chakai Assembly will exercise their franchise.

1900 polling stations will be built

The District Magistrate said that a total of 340 polling stations will be made in Tarapur Assembly. 207 buildings will be used for this. He told that 282 polling stations will be made in total 248 buildings of Shekhpura Assembly. 313 polling stations will be built in 229 buildings for Sikandra assembly constituency. 319 polling stations will be built in 223 buildings for Jamui assembly constituency. 352 polling stations will be built in 247 buildings in Jhajha Assembly and 335 polling stations will be built in 271 polling buildings in Chakai Assembly. The District Magistrate said that out of total 1425 polling buildings, a total of 1941 polling stations will be built for Jamui Lok Sabha.
