Lok Sabha Election 2024: 12 candidates filed nominations on the last day in Jamui.

Voting is to be held on four seats of Bihar in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. During this time, votes will also be cast for Jamui Lok Sabha seat. A notification was issued on March 20 regarding the voting to be held on April 19. The last date for nomination was March 28. On Thursday, the last day of nomination, all the candidates from Jamui Lok Sabha seat filed their nominations.

On one hand, Arun Bharti from Lok Janshakti Party (RA) filed nomination papers as NDA candidate, while Archana Ravidas filed nomination as RJD candidate from Indi alliance. Apart from this, Sakaldev Das on the ticket of Bahujan Samaj Party, Shravan Kumar from Rashtriya Jan Sambhavna Party, Gautam Paswan from Samajdar Party, Dr. Jagdish Prasad from Loktantrik Samaj Party, Santosh Das from Socialist Unit Center of India, Gudiya from Bharatiya Lok Chetna Party. Devi, not Anil Choudhary from Bharatiya Samata Party, filed nomination papers. During this period, two independent candidates also filed their nominations.

In which Upendra Ravidas, Subhash Paswan and others were involved. There was a lot of commotion regarding nomination from Kachhari Chowk to Collectorate since Thursday morning. Supporters of different political parties reached the district headquarters in large numbers and supported their candidates. Due to this, there was a lot of crowd in the entire district headquarters including Kachari Chowk since morning. On Thursday, RJD candidate Archana Ravidas was the first to arrive to file her nomination. After this, one by one all the candidates handed over their nomination papers to the District Magistrate cum Election Officer. It is worth noting that after the nomination is over, now all these nomination forms will be scrutinized. All nomination papers will be scrutinized by March 30. Candidates can withdraw their names till 2nd April. Voting for Jamui Lok Sabha seat will be held on April 19.

Supporters started reaching the district headquarters since morning
Actually, the notification for Jamui Lok Sabha seat was issued only on March 20 and nominations could be made continuously since then. But due to Holi and Bihar Day holiday, not a single nomination could be filed from Jamui Lok Sabha seat before Thursday. For this reason all nominations were filed on Thursday only. A large number of supporters of different political parties had reached the district headquarters for nomination. Apart from all the four assemblies of Jamui district, Jamui, Jhajha, Chakai and Sono, workers of political parties from Sheikhpura Assembly and Tarapur Assembly had also reached the district headquarters. Due to this, a lot of crowding was also seen. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the workers and people were continuously raising slogans in support of their candidate. For this reason a large number of police forces were also deployed.

The district headquarters was converted into a police cantonment.

On the last day of nomination for Lok Sabha elections, the district headquarters was completely transformed into a police cantonment. A large number of security forces and paramilitary forces were deployed on the way from Kachari Chowk to the Collectorate. The main road leading to the Collectorate was cordoned off and every person coming and going was kept under strict surveillance. No one was being allowed inside without documents. The candidate was being allowed to go inside along with his proposer and advocate. A large number of police forces were also deployed inside the Collectorate premises. On the last day of nomination for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, fortifications were done in the district and elaborate security arrangements were made.

19 lakh voters will cast their votes for Jamui Lok Sabha seat

It is noteworthy that in the Lok Sabha general elections to be held this year, 19 lakh voters from Jamui Lok Sabha constituency will exercise their franchise. Including all the 6 assembly constituencies of Jamui Lok Sabha seat, a total of 19 lakh 5 thousand 487 voters including 9 lakh 96 thousand 246 male voters, 9 lakh 9 thousand 190 female voters, 51 third gender voters will exercise their franchise tomorrow. For this, 9 1941 polling stations have been set up yesterday. After the nomination, once again the election campaign for Jamui Lok Sabha seat has become very intense.

Nomination lodged in police custody

On the last day of nomination, a candidate filed his nomination in police custody. During this, Upendra Ravidas filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate. The police had taken Upendra Ravidas into their custody and had come to file his nomination. It is noteworthy that Upendra Ravidas was arrested by the police from Jhajha for scuffling and misbehaving with the magistrate. After this Upendra Ravidas was sent to judicial custody. On Thursday, the police took Upendra Ravidas in their custody and came to file nomination.
