Vishwajit Kumar Singh was working as station in-charge of Bagdu police station during the police-naxal encounter in Korgo. Superintendent of Police R Ramkumar got information that there is a gathering of Maoists in Korgo of Bagdu police station area. On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, the campaign Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey, Bagdu police station in-charge Vishwajit Kumar Singh had gone on a raid campaign on December 29, 2022 with the police personnel. On the evening of December 29, 2022, the police stopped three kilometers before Pati Korgo village and at night the police officers and jawans took some rest after having refreshments. The looted weapon and other incriminating material was recovered from the police
After the firing stopped, the police started a search operation. In this, taking possession of the dead body of Naxalite Chandrabhan Pahan with a reward of five lakhs, Naxalite Govind Birijiya, with a reward of five lakhs, was arrested in an injured condition. Apart from this, in the search operation, the police got success in recovering weapons looted from the police including half a dozen weapons.
