Ritesh Aggarwal, 29, is known as the founder of Oyo Rooms. Born in a Marwari family in Cuttack in 1993, he completed his schooling in Odisha before moving to Delhi for higher studies. While in college, Ritesh started an AirBnB equivalent company called Oravel Stays at just 18 years old.
Actually, Ritesh Agarwal left his college studies midway and started his work. He told in an interview in 2015 that he had gone to the place of one of his relatives. He wanted to watch cartoons on TV. But, he did not have the remote in his hand. In such a situation, he came up with the idea of providing cheap hotels to the people.
Ritesh’s idea was very successful. In a very short time, he created a company with a market valuation of about 10 billion dollars (about Rs 83,000 crore). Today Oyo Rooms is working in China also. This is no less than an achievement for an Indian startup.
