Leave For Pet: Swiggy’s leave policy will surprise you, know now

Leave For Pet: If you also work in any organization then you must be aware about sick leave, earned leave, casual leave, maternity leave and paternity leave. There is also a provision for special leave in some companies. However, in changing times this leave is not enough. Understanding the changing needs of people, recent financial technology company Stock Grow (StockGro) had introduced breakup leave to its employees. Now, National Pet Day (National Pet Day) on Swiggy (swiggy) has updated its leave policy. The company has adopted a paternity leave policy (Paw-Ternity Leave) has started. This leave can be availed by those employees who foster or adopt an animal. The company said that their aim is to inspire people to keep pets and take better care of them.

What does the company say

Swiggy Chief Human Resource (HR) Officer Girish Menon said that in our gender-equality parenting policy launched in the year 2020, we are now expanding our definition of parenthood. The policy provides adequate paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers and leave for adoption, surrogacy, abortion and IVF in addition to contracted holidays. We are also including pet ‘parents’ in this. That’s why from today we are announcing the Swiggy ‘Pav-ternity’ policy for all full-time employees. Under the policy, employees will get an additional paid day (in addition to their annual leave entitlement) to welcome home their new ‘pet’ or pet. This policy has been introduced on National Pet Day on 11 April.

Employees can also choose work from home

Menon said in the blog post that employees keeping pets may initially choose to work from home to provide comfort and support to the new member. Additionally, employees can now utilize their casual or sick leave without any hesitation to attend to the needs of their pets, he said. Whether it’s for routine vaccinations or taking a sick or injured pet to a veterinary appointment.
