Patna. Leather park will be established in Mahabal of Muzaffarpur district. The Industries Department has issued a notification for this. According to the notification, 62.17 acres of land has been allotted for the leather park. This will probably be the first systematically organized leather park in the state. According to the notification issued by Dilip Kumar, Special Secretary to the Government, a new industrial area of ​​the state is going to be established in Mahabal itself. 28.66 acres of land has been given for this. This land has been handed over to BIADA.

More than 90 acres of land allotted for industrial use

According to the Special Secretary, the land of Motipur Sugar Mill has been allotted to Leather Park and Industrial Area. In this way, more than 90 acres of land has been allotted for industrial use. According to official information, the number of skilled leather workers is quite high in Muzaffarpur and its surrounding districts. A lot of leather units have also come there recently. Therefore, the Industries Department has decided to establish a leather park and other industrial areas in Mahabal. It will also be an important land bank for the proposed Global Investor Meet in December.

One-time waiver will be given to canceled industrial units

Here, BIADA has announced One Time Amnesty Policy, 2023 for the canceled industrial units in Bihar. This policy will remain effective till December 31. In fact, such canceled industrial units will start production within three months and produce 75 percent of the total capacity within six months. They will get benefits under the one-time waiver policy. BIADA will cancel the cancellation orders related to them. However, the unit will have to give an undertaking to comply with the conditions for starting production.

There will be a reduction in lawsuits

This policy has been brought to reduce the increasing litigation regarding industrial matters. As per the policy, those units canceled by BIADA will be allowed one-time waiver to set up industry and come into undertrial/commercial production. The units whose allotment has been cancelled. If such units have filed an appeal with the appellate authority or a writ petition in the Honorable High Court, Patna before October 1, 2023. If they withdraw the appeal or petition then they can apply under this policy. However, the applicant unit will not be able to make any changes/modifications in the product which is approved and allowed to be manufactured as per the original terms of allotment.

These will be the conditions

The entity will pay all dues of BEADA at the time of application. BIADA will provide a bank guarantee of 10% of the current value of the land of the unit. If the unit fails to commence trial/commercial production within the stipulated time, the bank guarantee on behalf of BIADA will be forfeited. On completion of three/six months, BIADA will inspect the premises of the applicant unit availing the benefit of this policy. If the unit does not follow the policy, it will be free to take further action. Industrial units whose industrial production has stopped before January 2020 will not be eligible for this one-time waiver policy. Apart from this, those units whose appeal has been rejected by the appellate authority and those units have not filed any writ petition till 30 September 2023, will not be eligible for the amnesty policy.
