BJP’s state in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Laxmikant Vajpayee reached BollywoodWallah office on Monday. He said that the workers are his capital and will win all the 14 seats in the Lok Sabha and more than 50 seats in the assembly. You are a doctor of Ayurveda, you have the herbs to improve the organization and make election strategy. You are established as a great strategist. How did all this happen?
I have been a volunteer of the Sangh since 1964. I started work as an activist. I have always been curious and a learner. Learned from wherever you got to learn. As far as strategy is concerned. He is the only worker. Because that is never the former. The rest is true like death. Well all are former. The worker is never the former. Take care of that capital, respect its value. Then there will never be any problem in future.
You have become in-charge of a state where your party was defeated in the last election. How do you see the challenge?
I have become in-charge, so I have become a worker. My first sentence after coming here was that I have come here to work under the leadership of the organization, not to do politics. I will go to Uttar Pradesh when my political worms will bother me. Whatever I do, I will do for the organization. As far as the last election is concerned, it was a sad chapter. We have to build our future by learning from him. On the strength of the workers of Jharkhand, we will win all the 14 seats in the Lok Sabha. When the assembly elections will be held, we will form the government by winning more than 50% seats.
What is the condition of the organization in the state. How do you rate it?
I made the worker a tool to evaluate the organization. I have gone to the districts under the program prepared by the state leadership. Talked directly to the workers of the organization there. Such workers who are unable to speak their mind without any hesitation. By distributing slips to them, he used to take their names and mobile numbers. Right now I have more than 650 such slips. Their district-wise chart has been prepared. Feedback will also be taken from them.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP had a great performance, you won 12 out of 14 seats. After four months, he was far away from the majority. What was the reason No review.
As far as the Lok Sabha elections are concerned, we won because of these workers only. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a big factor in the Lok Sabha elections. Narendra Modi is the name of personality. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the people of the country have believed that if Mother India is safe, it is because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If Bharat Mata survives, then political parties, castes and states will survive. That’s why the public handed over the command to Modi to hand over Mother India in safe hands. As far as the assembly is concerned, it has its own difficulties. Now taking lessons from everyone, we will work and win the next elections as well.
The party has still not recovered from the defeat. At present, five by-elections were held in the Vidhansabha and NDA won one seat, that too when there was an alliance between you and AJSU. What would you say?
See, as far as recovery is concerned, there is victory after four defeats. The NDA alliance was ours. There is still an NDA alliance in Delhi. We have tightened the knot of alliance which was loose. Then the candidate of the alliance was fielded in the election and won. In future too only the candidates of the BJP alliance will win.
What is the stand of BJP regarding the planning policy on the basis of 1932 Khatian?
The then Chief Minister Babulal Marandi had first brought a local policy. The High Court had commented on this. Had the present government brought a local policy by resolving the High Court’s comment? Did not bring The present government has no intention of bringing this policy. That’s why the work of adding it to schedule nine has been done by bringing it in the Vidhansabha. Babulal Marandi had not talked about adding it to the ninth schedule. In such a situation, the state government is cheating and cheating the people of Jharkhand. Their intention is not clear.
Whom will the party make the face of the Chief Minister? There is a long line of leaders who have been chief ministers in the state, Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Raghuvar Das are among them. Who will be your face?
Lotus flower and Narendra Modi will be the face of the party in the assembly elections. When the MLAs come after getting elected, the leader of the Legislature Party will be elected.
You have a long political experience. Have an interesting experience that still thrills you today?
I started the work of Jansangh on the mark of Deepak. Since then till now injustice with the worker has not been tolerated. If any administration or police officer tries to do injustice to any worker, then Laxmikant Vajpayee’s horns grow and we get ready to tear his stomach. The worker is my God and master. To protect him, I am ready to leave the house even in the middle of the night and stand at the door. When the worker stands up, there is no danger to any organization.
The tribal leaders of the BJP oppose the giving of tribal benefits to Christians. This is an issue on which the Center has to take a decision. What will be the stand of the party on this?
When the decision has to be taken by the Central Government, then how can the stand of the party be different from that of the Central Government. But generally, for the class for which the facility of reservation is provided by the constitution and the government. If a Dalit becomes a Muslim after converting it, should he get the right?
There is division within the party as well. How to bridge it?
See, BJP is a family. There are all kinds of people in it. No one is against anyone. There can be differences on issues. Such matters also get resolved when the time comes. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pervez Musharraf of Indo-Pak sat on a table, then we are inside the house.
How do you see the functioning of the present state leadership?
Presently Deepak Prakash is the state president. Unless there is an instruction from the central organization. He is the president of the organization. It is our internal system that we change the president in three years. But mine didn’t happen. When the national leadership understands the need, it will take a decision. When he takes a decision, we will accept him as a worker.
You have played a key role in establishing Modi Raj, so can the next PM be from UP?
