Keeping this in mind, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to make a law to ensure safety from accidents in lifts and escalators installed in big buildings. . CM Yogi gave necessary guidelines in this regard in a meeting held on Monday. CM Yogi said that in the present times of rapidly increasing urbanization, lifts and escalators are being used increasingly in big buildings. Apart from this, complaints are also received regarding lifts and escalators installed in public places and footpaths due to their design, installation, operation and maintenance not being done properly. Lifts and escalators are used by the general public as well as by the elderly, children, sick people and disabled people. Their safety is very important. For this purpose, it is necessary to ensure strict adherence to the prescribed procedures for construction, quality, internal safety features, operation and maintenance of lifts and escalators. There is no rule or law applicable in this regard in the state. Whereas Lift Act is applicable in other states of the country. This needs to be implemented immediately.
