The square dedicated to famous singer Lata Mangeshkar in Ayodhya city of Uttar Pradesh has become the main center of attraction for the local residents and tourists visiting here. People are taking selfies with enthusiasm at this square.
Art has the power to attract people and the replica of a huge ornate veena weighing 14 tonnes installed in the center of this square is doing its job very well.
Officials had earlier told that this 40 feet long and 12 meters high replica has been made by famous sculptor Ram Sutar. It has been built at an estimated cost of about Rs 7.9 crore.
Lata Mangeshkar Chowk is situated at the intersection of Ram Path and Dharam Path. Both the paths have been beautifully decorated with beautiful illuminated pillars ahead of the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram temple.
Hundreds of people from Ayodhya and neighboring districts gathered at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk to celebrate the New Year and clicked a lot of reels and photos here.
Local people give credit for the sudden popularity of this public place to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s road show in Ayodhya on 30 December. During this time he stopped at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk and got his picture clicked.
A day before the Prime Minister’s visit here, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also taken a selfie at the Chowk. This square is really very beautiful.
Local resident Akhilesh Pandey, who arrived with his wife Sadhna on New Year, told PTI, “We used to go to Lucknow on the occasion of New Year or stay at home, but now our city has developed and here There are places like this. Now people from nearby cities and towns are also coming to celebrate.
Sadhna told that the main center of attraction of Lata Mangeshkar Chowk is the replica of Veena which is very beautiful and quite big. Soon Bollywood celebs will also come here.
The Uttar Pradesh government built this square near Naya Ghat to pay tribute to late singer Lata Mangeshkar on her 93rd birth anniversary. It was inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Modi on 28 December 2022. (Language)
