Bareilly: On the last Monday of the month of Shravan (Saawan), Shiva temples in Bareilly were thronged by Shiva devotees since early morning. The kanwariyas performed special pujas by performing Jalabhishek and sought their wishes. A large police force was deployed for the security of the temples and the kanwariyas. There were deployments in numbers. Shravan month started from July 4 and will end on August 31, 2023, but now Shravan month is at its last stop. August 28 is the last Monday of Sawan and the route diversion on the highway has also ended from 8 pm tonight. Due to which the journey from Bareilly to Delhi, Haridwar, Agra and Moradabad will be much easier.

Crowd of kanwariyas in temples since morning

In Bareilly, on the last Monday of Sawan, i.e. today, the temples were crowded with kanwariyas and devotees since morning. Devotees chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev’ after performing Jalabhishek at Shivalaya. The security of the temples left no stone unturned. Police was stationed at various places on the route of the kanwariyas. Shiva temples were lit up since night.

Kanwariyas coming to temples are welcomed with flowers

Kanwaris carrying water from Kachla Ghat in Badaun and Haridwar in Uttarakhand reached the Shiva temple. The Kanwaris coming to the temples were welcomed with flowers, after which the Kanwaris asked for their wishes by performing Jalabhishek in the pagoda of the temple. Devotees in the temples from Monday morning Only got a chance to have darshan, and the doors of the temple were opened. Separate rows were made for women and men by placing bamboo bats in the temples, so that the system of worship-abhishek and darshan could be safe.
