Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons to 13 people, including Jayant Karnad, the owner of the land occupied by the army, directing them to appear for questioning. Among those who have been issued summons, the names of CA Naresh Kejriwal’s wife Maya Kejriwal and others are included. The ED recorded the statement of municipal tax collector Dilip Sharma on Tuesday. Dilip Sharma had lodged an FIR against Pradeep Bagchi alleging that he had taken the holding number on the basis of fake documents. At the same time, the questioning of former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan, continued on the third day as well.

The ED has sent summons to the owner of the land, Jayant Karnad, directing him to appear on May 10 in connection with the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army. Investigation has found that the Karnad family fought a long legal battle to get back the land from the army’s occupation and to increase the rent. Due to this, the rent of the land increased, but the court did not succeed in removing the army from the concerned land. Meanwhile, Jayant Karnad sold the land occupied by the army to 13 people. The buyers applied for mutation, but on the grounds of non-possession of the land, Bargain circle rejected the mutation application. After this, Pradeep Bagchi became the owner of the land with the help of fake documents and sold the land to Jagat Bandhu Tea State. The ED has issued summons to the people involved in the sale and purchase done by Karnad and directed them to appear for questioning. The name of Maya Kejriwal, wife of CA Naresh Kejriwal is also included in this. Naresh Kejriwal is accused in another money laundering case. He is accused of money laundering of drug scam accused Dr. Pradeep Kumar.

On Tuesday also, the ED recorded the statement of Dilip Mishra, Tax Collector of Ranchi Municipal Corporation and inquired about the whole matter. Apart from this, questioned Lakhan Singh, Rajesh Rai and Bipin Singh. In the inquiry, information was found in connection with other people who forged the document. However, these names are not being made public for the purpose of continuing the investigation. ED officials questioned Chhavi Ranjan, former deputy commissioner of Ranchi, in connection with his links with land businessmen.
