Land for Job case: CBI will interrogate railway workers posted in Sonpur and Barauni, called on this date

Patna. CBI has summoned about a dozen officers and personnel who got jobs in Railways by giving land to Delhi next week. According to official sources of CBI, these personnel posted in Sonpur and Barauni railway divisions of the state have been asked to appear in the Delhi office of CBI from 21 to 25 November. Most of these people are working in the mechanical section of the Railways. These people are accused of getting servants by giving land to RJD President Lalu Prasad when he was the Railway Minister. In this case, ED has arrested Amit Katyal, close to Lalu family, and interrogated him. At the same time, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court has provided relief to Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and MP Misa Bharti from personal appearance.

ED custody of Amit Katyal extended

A Delhi court on Thursday extended the ED custody of AK Infosystems promoter Amit Katyal. Katyal was arrested last week in the land-for-job scam case. Rouse Avenue Court’s special judge Geetanjali Goyal sent Katyal to ED custody till November 22 after his two-day remand ends. Amit Katyal’s premises were raided by the central agency in March. Meanwhile, searches were conducted at the premises of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his sisters and others. According to the ED, Amit Katyal is a close aide of the RJD chief as well as a former director of AK Infosystems Private Limited. Let us tell you that AK Infosystems Private Limited is the alleged ‘beneficiary company’ in the case and its registered office is a residential building located in New Friends Colony, South Delhi, which is used by Tejashwi Yadav.

What is the matter of job in exchange for land?

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is accused of a scam regarding appointment in Railways when he was Railway Minister. During this period, land was taken from many people in exchange for jobs. When the matter came to light, the responsibility of investigating this scam was given to CBI. During the CBI investigation, it came to light that the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had got the registration of lands and flats done in the name of his family members in exchange for getting a job in the Railways. This includes the names of his wife Rabri Devi, elder daughter Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.

ED is investigating money laundering

In this case, along with CBI, ED is also investigating from the angle of money laundering. CBI has already filed charge sheet against Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi. Lalu Prasad Yadav is still on bail in this case. Recently, CBI had filed a charge sheet against Tejashwi Yadav in this case. On which hearing is to be held today in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.

CBI claims that no advertisement or public notice was issued for appointment in Railways. Some residents of Patna were given jobs in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hajipur. He was appointed as a substitute in various zonal railways. The investigating agency alleged that in exchange for jobs, some candidates had allegedly sold land at unfair rates to members of the Lalu family, either directly or through their family members. There is an allegation of selling land at highly discounted rates.
