Lalu Yadav’s close aide Amit Katyal arrested, another action by ED in land-for-job case

Land For Job Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday took into custody Amit Katyal, an alleged aide of RJD president Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav, in connection with the investigation into the land-for-jobs case. Official sources gave this information. Sources claimed that Katyal was evading the summons issued by the agency for questioning for almost two months. ED officials detained him from Delhi under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Central Investigation Agency first detained Katyal on Friday and then interrogated him at length. After interrogation, Katyal was arrested by ED.

Why did Amit Katyal come on the radar?

Amit Katyal’s premises were raided by the central agency in March. Meanwhile, searches were conducted at the premises of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his sisters and others. According to the ED, Amit Katyal is a close aide of the RJD chief as well as a former director of AK Infosystems Private Limited. Let us tell you that AK Infosystems Private Limited is the alleged ‘beneficiary company’ in the case and its registered office is a residential building located in New Friends Colony, South Delhi, which is used by Tejashwi Yadav.

Was ignoring ED summons.

According to news agency Bhasha, sources said that the Central Investigation Agency has arrested Amit Katyal and now he is likely to be produced in the local court. There is a possibility that ED will demand custody of Amit Katyal for further investigation and interrogation. Bhasha has received information from sources that Amit Katyal was on the radar of ED. He was ignoring the ED summons for almost two months. It is being told that the case was issued against Amit Katyal by ED. Katyal had gone to Delhi High Court against this and filed a petition requesting to cancel the summons. But Amit Katyal got a shock from the court and the petition to cancel the summons was rejected. It is noteworthy that when the premises of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, his son and daughters and other accused were raided in March, many places of Amit Katyal were also raided.
