17 people including Tejashwi Yadav were made accused

CBI has also made Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav an accused in this case. Earlier, Tejashwi’s name was not in this case. However, the names of other accused including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, daughter MP Misa Bharti were included in the earlier charge sheet.

Instructions to CBI to submit all documents related to charge sheet

During the earlier hearing, the counsel for the accused argued that they have not yet received many documents related to the charge sheet filed by the CBI, on which CBI Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal asked the CBI to hand over all the documents related to the charge sheet to the accused. Ordered to provide it as soon as possible. Along with this, the passports of the Land for Job accused were also deposited in the court. Earlier, the court had given relief to Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav in this case. Under this, he will not need to come to the court and Lalu family and others were given bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.

There were irregularities during the tenure of UPA government

The Land for Job issue dates back to the time when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister during the second term of the UPA government. Allegations have been made that he gave a job fraudulently in exchange for land. CBI is investigating this. The investigation started on 18 May 2022. When CBI had registered a case against 16 named and others. The first arrest in this case was made on 27 July 2022 in the form of Bhola Yadav, a close aide of Lalu Yadav. On January 13, 2023, CBI got approval to prosecute the case. On March 7, 2023, CBI had interrogated Lalu Yadav. On March 10, 2023, Lalu-Rabri had presented their case in the court. On May 16, 2023, CBI had filed the charge sheet in Rouse Avenue Court.
