Government of India has come out with a different plan regarding Lakshadweep. It is reported that the Central Government is working towards building an airport on Minicoy Islands of Lakshadweep. According to a report by news magazine India Today, the central government is planning to build an airport in Lakshadweep. Along with commercial planes, military flights will also fly in it. Construction of airport on Lakshadweep will give India a strategic edge from security point of view. It will become easier for the Indian Army to monitor the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Apart from this, tourism will also get a boost due to the presence of a commercial airport.
