Last year on the occasion of Janmashtami two devotees died due to overcrowding

It may be noted that on the occasion of Janmashtami last year, two devotees including a woman died due to excessive number of devotees in the premises of Thakur Bankebihari temple in Vrindavan. ADM administration Vijay Shankar Pandey told that one zonal and seven sector magistrates have been deployed in the temple area. He told that Mathura has been divided into three zones and 17 sectors, while Vrindavan has been divided into three zones and 16 sectors.
