The news of former Indian cricket team captain Saurabh Ganguly losing a mobile phone has come to light. This phone is not found in his residence in Behala. According to sources, after losing the mobile phone, a complaint has been lodged at Thakurpukur police station. It has been told in the complaint that since around 11 am on January 19, Saurabh Ganguly’s mobile phone is not being detected from his house on Viren Rai Road. The phone is said to contain important personal information. The police is investigating the case.
Intali: Three cars and eight bikes destroyed in fire
A catastrophic fire broke out in the parking zone on the ground floor of a 16-storey residential building located on Radhanath Choudhary Lane in Intali police station area of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The incident happened late on Friday night. As soon as the information was received, two engines of the fire department were brought to the spot. Local police also reached there and people were safely evacuated from the building. After a lot of effort, the fire was controlled in the early hours of Saturday. Three private cars and eight bikes were damaged in the fire. There is no information about anyone being injured in the accident.
Watganj: Middle aged man lost his life in road accident
A middle-aged man died while another was injured in a road accident on CGR Road in Watganj police station area. The incident occurred on Saturday at around 12.50 pm. According to police, Mohammed Shamim (48) and Riazuddin Khan (52) were passing through CGR on a motorcycle when they were hit by a goods vehicle. After the accident, both of them were taken to SSKM Hospital, where Shamim died during treatment. Both were residents of Bhukailash Road.
Girl falls from 11th floor in Joka, loses her life
A girl died after falling from the balcony of the 11th floor of a multi-storey building located on Diamond Harbor Road in Joka area under Thakurpukur police station. The incident occurred around 5.25 am on Saturday morning. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. The girl was taken to Vidyasagar State General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. According to the police, during interrogation of some people of the area it is coming to light that the girl had jumped from the building. However, the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the building is being scrutinized to find out whether the girl fell from the building accidentally or committed suicide or there is some other reason behind the incident. The police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased. She lived in the same building. Suicide note has not been recovered in the case.
Dead body of old man found hanging from noose
The hanging body of an old man was found in Badtala police station area. The incident took place at a house located on Becharam Chatterjee Lane at 7.45 am on Saturday. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the old man to RGKar Medical College and Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The deceased was identified as Tapas Majumdar (81). The police is investigating the matter.
