According to the information received, while boating in Sahebbandh of Swarna Jayanti Udyan in Adra police station area of ​​Purulia, the boat overturned on Tuesday night, due to which one of the four people on board died due to drowning. The remaining three people were somehow saved by the local people. But Kolkata Police traffic constable Shubhdeep Sambhi (33) could not be saved. He was a resident of Gayadi village of Adra police station area.

Was working as a traffic constable in Kolkata Police. It is told that Shubhdeep had come to Adra during Holi holidays. On Tuesday evening, he was celebrating Holi with his friends at the guest house of Swarnjayanti Udyan. According to information received from police and local sources, after the Holi celebrations on Tuesday, in the evening, Shubhdeep Sambhi started boating in Sahebbandh with his three friends.

At around 8:00 pm, the boat overturned in the middle of the lake and the four friends fell into deep water. After coming to know about this, local divers entered the lake in the night itself and saved three people, but Shubhdeep was not found. Since Tuesday night, the divers of the Disaster Response Force descended into Sahebbandh and kept searching for Shubhdeep, but could not find him.

Divers took out Shubhdeep’s body from Sahebbandh around 10 am on Wednesday morning. After receiving the information, the police reached there and after confirming the death, took possession of the body and sent it to Purulia Deven Mahato Medical College for postmortem. However, the Sambhi family feels that there may be a conspiracy behind the incident. The circumstances under which Shubhdeep died are mysterious.

Meanwhile, the police has started investigation. It should be noted that boating is not allowed in the lake near Golden Jubilee Park of Adra after 5:00 pm on any day. Despite this, questions are being raised about how these people went into the lake for boating in the dark of night. The police have started investigating the matter.
