More than 100 outsourced employees of Kolhan University (KU) have not received salaries for 4 months. Due to this their financial situation has become serious.

Now all these employees are continuing their service in anticipation of the decision to be taken in the syndicate meeting of the university. According to the information, these employees reinstated in the university headquarters and other constituent colleges are providing their services as computer operators, sweepers, peons and security guards.

Some are worried about child’s fees and some are worried about ration. The condition of one or two workers is very bad, due to which their physical and mental condition has deteriorated.

Restoration was done in Kolhan University through agency

It is known that more than 100 of these employees of Kolhan University were reinstated as outsourced workers through the agency. The tenure of the agency ended in December. After which talks took place between the university administration, employees and the agency, but the salary has not been paid yet.

The placement agency had to pay the salary for December and January.

The salary for the months of December and January was to be paid to the agency, but he says that the amount for this purpose was not available to him from the university. Now the employees are expecting salaries for the months of February and March, which will be given from the internal source of the university. But in the absence of a permanent Vice Chancellor, it is necessary to pass it in the Syndicate meeting from Raj Bhavan, only then the salary amount will be available to the employees.

New tender process postponed due to code of conduct

Here, online tender was made for the reinstatement of outsourced personnel of Kolhan University (KU). 11 sensors applied for this. The investigation of whose technical bid was also completed. But now it has been put on hold due to the election code of conduct.

No money even to buy oil and soap

On the condition of anonymity, he said that he studies along with work. This has to be incurred. There is shame in asking for money from home. Some help is available from home, due to which the work is going on. One worker said that he was in need of food. There is no money even to buy oil and soap. Problems will increase due to not receiving salary this month.

Another employee said that our family is big. There is no one to earn except me. It is difficult to fulfill the responsibility of teaching younger siblings along with your child. Borrowing has also increased a lot. Now shopkeepers have started shying away from giving ration.

Instructions have been sought from Raj Bhavan regarding what decision will be taken regarding non-payment of outstanding amount by the agency. Correspondence has also been sent to Raj Bhavan for instructions to hold a syndicate meeting regarding paying salaries to these employees on the basis of daily wages. The syndicate meeting will probably be held after April 15. After this, the employees will be provided their two months’ salary from the internal source of the university.
