Congress Workers in Custody: At least seven Congress workers, including a secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), have been taken into preventive custody ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kochi today. Police gave this information. District Congress Committee (DCC) president Mohammed Shias confirmed that seven Congress workers from Kochi West area were taken into preventive custody by the police this morning, including KPCC secretary Thampi Subramaniam and DCC secretary Sreekumar. Police said that these Congress workers have demonstrated with black flags even before the visits of leaders of rival parties in the area, that is why they have been taken into preventive custody.
