Know Your Army: Opportunity for youth to know Indian Army, CM Yogi inaugurates ‘Know Your Army’ festival

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Central Command Army Commander Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani AVSM, SM, VSM, Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Shri Durga Shankar Mishra were present at the inauguration ceremony.

CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Know Your Army Festival by releasing tricolor balloons. During this he also saw various equipment.

CM Yogi Adityanath said on this occasion that he paid tribute to our brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to protect our nation. Yogi Adityanath said that “Indian Army is a symbol of the strength and courage of the 140 crore people of the country.”

On this occasion, CM saw the automatic rifle available in the exhibition. He said that it is an opportunity for the youth of the state to know the Indian Army closely and get inspired by the bravery and valor of the army. He assured that the state government is fully committed to the interests of serving and retired soldiers.

Army Commander Lieutenant General Raja Subramani highlighted that hosting the Army Day Parade this year was a proud moment for the Central Command and the city of Lucknow. Traditionally the Army Day parade was held in Delhi till 2022. The decision to shift this program out of Delhi is aimed at promoting understanding of the Indian Army across all regions of the country.

The demonstrations include the T-90 tank, the main battle tank of the Indian Army, the indigenous K-9 Vajra self-propelled artillery gun and the indigenously made Weapon Locating Radar (WLR) Swati.

The technology-driven army of self-reliant India along with indigenously manufactured versions were also proudly displayed in the exhibition. Additionally, a series of information counters, military demonstrations and an exciting quiz competition were also part of the event. The Information Counter has been very useful for veterans, providing resources, support and networking opportunities.

This rare opportunity allowed the attendees to witness first-hand the cutting-edge technologies used by our armed forces, thereby developing a deeper understanding of the Indian Army and its formidable strength.

At the Know Your Army Festival, the audience witnessed a breathtaking exhibition showcasing martial arts and latest military equipment. Know Your Army Festival will be open for all citizens till 7th January, 04 pm.
