The differences between Bihar’s education department and Raj Bhavan are deepening. On behalf of Raj Bhavan, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak was asked to be present in the office of Governor cum Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Monday. Why was KK Pathak called to Raj Bhavan?
In fact, on April 9, a meeting of Vice-Chancellors was held under the chairmanship of the Governor at Raj Bhavan. Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak was also invited to this meeting. But KK Pathak was absent in this meeting. After this, on April 10, Robert L. Chongthu, Principal Secretary to the Governor, wrote a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department. It was said in this letter that the Governor cum Chancellor has expressed regret over the absence of KK Pathak in the meeting. The Governor also wanted to know from KK Pathak under what circumstances he did not attend the meeting. In this connection, KK Pathak was asked to be present in the Governor’s chamber on 15th April.
The governor kept waiting
It is being told that KK Pathak was called to Raj Bhavan at 10 o’clock, but he did not reach. During this time, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar kept waiting for Pathak in his chamber. But when KK Pathak did not arrive, he left from there to participate in other programs.
What is the controversy?
The Education Department and Raj Bhavan have been at loggerheads for a long time. This conflict has been going on ever since KK Pathak came to the education department. This impasse increased further when the Education Department recently called half a dozen meetings between February 28 and till now. But the Vice Chancellor did not attend even a single meeting. The Vice Chancellors were instructed by Raj Bhavan not to attend the meeting. After this, the angry education department took action and froze all the accounts of the vice-chancellors and universities. After which there is a lot of resentment among the Vice Chancellors also.
