On Friday, when some farmers from Kheri Chopta village near Hisar in Haryana were stopped from going to Khanauri, some protesters pelted stones at policemen. Farmers have been camping in Khanauri since last week as their march has been stopped by security forces. Most of these farmers are from Punjab. There was a clash between policemen and farmers near Khanauri today and Haryana security personnel were forced to fire tear gas shells. Officials said that some policemen and farmers were injured in this clash and some farmers have been detained.

Golu Data, president of Hisar unit of Bharatiya Kisan Union, alleged that apart from firing tear gas shells, the police lathicharged the farmers and used water cannon.
