New Delhi : South Korean automaker Kia Motors is aggressively planning to introduce electric vehicles in the market in the coming few years. EV 5 is an important part of his plan. It is reported that the South Korean company has introduced the production model of Kia EV5 in China, which will be seen in the market as an all-electric option of Kia Sports. As per the company’s strategy, this compact SUV will be launched in China later this year before being introduced in other markets of the world. It is being said in media reports that initially the Kia EV5 electric compact SUV will be sold in China as well as in some markets of the world. After this, information about its launch in the global market will be made available in October 2023.
According to media reports, the Kia EV5 is the latest compact electric SUV from the automaker and is based on the same e-CMP architecture, which is dedicated for electric vehicles. Also based on the Kia EV6. It is being told in the report that Kia EV5 can be introduced in India by the company in 2025. The company has currently revealed the production phase of the Kia EV5 electric SUV. However, its technical specification can be disclosed at the time of launching.

The mirrors of the car have become bigger and the bumper has received minor changes as compared to the concept. Overall, the Kia EV5 looks similar to the flagship EV9. The front of the smaller EV is more aggressive with the ‘tiger face’ treatment. According to the company, the Kia EV5 is a versatile SUV equipped with a great design as well as a tremendous composition of comfort. According to Kia, the interior of the EV5 electric SUV is more than just a car for millions of families, it is more like an extra room for a safe and comfortable seat. On the other hand, talking about the interior features, the Kia EV5 has a wraparound digital panel as well as a touchscreen infotainment system, digital display and separate switches for different features. Along with this, like the rest of the company’s cars, the electric SUV will also get over-the-air system updates and car owners can activate them as per their requirement.
Kia EV5 Motor and Battery
The China-spec Kia EV5 will be powered by a single electric motor, which is capable of generating 212 Bhp of peak power and 310 Nm of peak torque. Power will be sent to the front wheels. The SUV will draw energy from the BYD Blade Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack. However, the capacity and range of the battery pack is yet to be revealed. Kia said that the specifications of the EV5 will vary depending on the region, which means that there will be different specifications for the global market-spec model.
