Kharge will not attend the flag hoisting ceremony of the new Parliament House, expressed his inability by writing a letter to the Rajya Sabha General Secretary

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Rajya Sabha General Secretary Pramod Chandra Modi expressing his inability to attend the flag hoisting ceremony in the new Parliament House. In his letter, Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the meetings of the newly formed Congress Working Committee have been scheduled on 16 and 17 September in Hyderabad. For this reason he will not be able to attend the flag hoisting ceremony in the new Parliament House. Let us tell you that, before this, the first meeting of the reconstituted Working Committee (CWC) of the Congress was held in Hyderabad on Saturday in which the strategy, organization and many other topics for next year’s Lok Sabha and assembly elections of five states to be held this year were discussed. In this meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while mentioning the recent incidents of Manipur violence, communal tension in Haryana and some other states, alleged that the country is surrounded by serious internal challenges and the Bharatiya Janata Party is adding fuel to the fire.

Many Congress leaders attended the CWC meeting

The party is also preparing to challenge the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana through the Working Committee. Along with the working committee meeting, Congress will announce six guarantees for Telangana. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and many senior party leaders were present in the meeting. Kharge hoisted the party flag before the working committee meeting he attended. Kharge, in his opening address at the Congress Working Committee meeting regarding the special session of Parliament, claimed that the ruling party wants an ‘opposition-less’ Parliament and hence one has to be cautious about its intentions.

Kharge angry at central government

Kharge said that there will be talks in the meeting with allies regarding alliance for the Lok Sabha elections. Kharege also shared the message of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the post on ‘X’. Referring to the formation of Telangana state in 2014, Sonia Gandhi said, “We had made a promise to the people of Telangana. We have fulfilled that promise. He said that Congress has always stood with the aspirations of the people of Telangana. Sonia Gandhi said that now the time has come to take the state into a new era of progress and prosperity. The Congress Working Committee is ready to write a new chapter of development with respect for all the people of Telangana and our country.

Before the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said in a Facebook post, “We all were warmly welcomed in Hyderabad along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi ji and many other senior leaders of the party. Congress is dedicated to raising the concerns of the common people and providing them a government that fulfills their rights and aspirations. Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal had said on Wednesday, we had invited 90 people for the working committee meeting. Six people have expressed their inability to attend the meeting due to personal reasons.

CWC meeting will be held on Sunday also

After today’s meeting of the Congress Working Committee, there will be a meeting of the Extended Working Committee on Sunday. Apart from all the members of the Working Committee, the State Congress Committee President and many other senior leaders will participate in the meeting of the Extended Working Committee. After this, a public meeting will be organized near Hyderabad on the evening of 17th September, which Kharge, Sonia, Rahul and many other leaders can address. Venugopal said Congress MPs will leave for Delhi to attend the five-day special session of Parliament starting on September 18, but other party leaders will visit assembly constituencies in Telangana to contact the public and level the allegations against the BRS government. ‘Letter’ will be brought forward.

Congress had reconstituted its working committee on August 20, which includes party president Mallikarjun Kharge along with many senior leaders including former president Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi. 39 members, 32 permanent invitee members and 13 special invitee members have been included in the working committee. Leaders like Sachin Pilot and Shashi Tharoor have got a place in this working committee for the first time.
