In the AC coach of Sangam Express going from Meerut to Prayagraj, people of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait Group), who were going to participate in the farmers rally, were warming themselves by burning fireplace. Seeing the smoke, the passengers present in that coach started running away in panic. This information was given to the control room. As soon as the information was received, Deputy CTM raided Kanpur Central Station with heavy police force. During checking, no person was found who warmed himself by lighting a fire. During this, farmers union workers started shouting slogans. Seeing the increasing commotion, the train was sent ahead. The farmers were led by Chaudhary Gaurav Tikait, son of Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union. Railway officials said that action has been taken at Prayagraj station. Someone made a video of this matter and made it viral. When this video reached the Railway Ministry, there was a stir. The video of burning of economy AC coach M-1 of Sangam Express (14164) has gone viral.

Gaurav Tikait was also interrogated

Actually, National Vice President of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait Group) Kushal Pal Arya and President of Youth Brigade Chaudhary Gaurav Tikait were traveling by train with about five hundred workers. During this time, to escape the cold, someone lit a fireplace and heated his hands, due to which the coach was filled with smoke. Kanpur Central Station received information from the security control room of Prayagraj Division that some people in the train were warming their hands by lighting fire and most of them were without tickets. On information, a large number of soldiers including Deputy CTM Ashutosh Singh along with RPF Assistant Security Commissioner AK Rai, ACM Santosh Tripathi, RPF Inspector BP Singh and GRP Inspector Yogendra Singh reached platform number five. Gaurav Tikait was also interrogated in the train which reached around 10.00 in the morning. He denied the incident. Then asked for video. On showing the video, he said that he himself was strolling in the train throughout the night and did not give any clear answer saying that there was some anti-social element. The checking team did not find any person who lit fire in any coach. Meanwhile, the workers going to the rally started creating ruckus by raising slogans of Kisan Union Zindabad, Chaudhary Gaurav Tikait Zindabad.

Commercial staff could not check tickets

Deputy CTM and ACM Kanpur tried to convince them but they did not agree. Due to the uproar, the commercial staff could not do the ticket checking and the train was sent to Prayagraj at 10:18. Keeping security in mind, Senior Sub Inspector Dheeraj Kumar Mishra and two staff were also sent with the vehicle to Prayagraj. In this case, CPRO of North Central Railway Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said that burning the AC coach of the train is a very sensitive incident. Just two months ago, coaches of two trains were badly burnt in a fire in Etawah. This is an incident that puts the lives of passengers at risk. Action is being taken in this matter at Prayagraj station.
