Kanpur News: Family Benefit Scheme files stuck in Vikas Bhawan, 750 applications missing from portal

The application for Uttar Pradesh Family Benefit Scheme is pending in Kanpur. Thousands of families were deprived of benefits. In Kanpur alone, 750 applications were not considered. All the applications have disappeared from the portal. Due to maintenance work, the portal ran only till September. After this it stopped. There is no information about the applications that went for verification from January to March.

This is the benefit of the scheme

Under the National Family Benefit Scheme, the Social Welfare Department provides an assistance amount of Rs 30,000 on the death of the head of the family aged between 18 to 60 years. This year, the verification of the family benefit scheme has to be done at the District Social Welfare Officer level. All applications have been made directly through the portal instead of offline. In this financial year, the portal was launched only in the month of September. In which 214 applications were received by the Social Welfare Officer.

Expected to start after Diwali

According to District Social Welfare Officer Trinetra Singh, currently maintenance work is going on in the Family Benefit Portal. This year no applicant has received the benefit of the scheme yet. The portal was launched in the month of September. Then it stopped. Old applications also cannot be found. A letter has been written to the directorate. It is expected to be operational after Diwali.
