Kanpur News: Along with heart, brain stroke patients increased, doctors warned the elderly due to increasing cold.

With the increase in cold weather in the state, the number of brain stroke and respiratory related patients has started increasing rapidly in the OPD of Halat and Ursala hospitals of Kanpur. Around 500 patients came to the medicine department of Hallett Hospital of GSVM Medical College for treatment. Most of them were suffering from cough, cold, fever, body ache, headache, vomiting and diarrhea. Professor JS Kushwaha of the Department of Medicine of the Medical College said that the number of patients suffering from brain stroke along with diabetic heart patients has increased in OPD. According to doctors, the risk of brain stroke increases during winter season. This is a dangerous disease that can send the patient into coma. Its second worst form is paralysis. Cold beverages and curd etc. should be avoided in this season. Do not get up suddenly from bed, because there is a lot of difference between the temperature of bed and outside. Due to this, problems like dizziness and brain stroke can occur. Be sure to drink lukewarm water during winter season.

Lack of oxygen causes problems

According to Dr. Raghavendra Gupta of Neurology Department, in brain stroke, one of the veins of the brain bursts due to blood blockage. The risk of brain stroke increases in winter because the brain does not get sufficient amount of oxygen. Due to this, the veins of the brain shrink and burst due to obstruction in blood circulation. If timely treatment is not done, the patient may suffer paralysis and may even die.
