Kanpur: Narendra Mohan Setu will remain one way for 25 days from tomorrow, PWD will get the bridge repaired….

Kanpur : Due to the extension joint being down, the vehicles passing through Narendra Mohan Setu are forced to suffer continuous shocks. PWD will start the repair work of the bridge from Wednesday. 14 extension joints on the bridge will be replaced at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. It will take 25 days to replace them. During this time the bridge will remain one way. Traffic coming from JK Temple will be able to use the bridge. But, there will be a ban on climbing the bridge from Hallett Hospital.

Narendra Mohan Bridge was inaugurated in the year 2001 to get rid of the jam of railway crossing at Gol intersection. Due to the passage of more than 20 years, the extension joint of the bridge is giving a shock to the masons. The repair of the bridge is scheduled to be completed. After this, PWD had done the repair work of the extension joint some time ago. But, again the extension joints of the bridge were down again. To repair the bridge, the PWD team has conducted a survey and decided to replace 14 extension joints. The department has made an estimate of Rs 36 lakh for replacing the extension joint. Executive Engineer Rakesh Yadav said that the repair work on the bridge will start from Wednesday and the repair work will take 25 days.

This will be an alternative system of transportation

●All those coming from Bajaria and Harsh Nagar will not be able to go beyond Royal Clip Hotel intersection towards Narendra Mohan Bridge. Such vehicles will turn left from Hotel intersection and go to the destination via Coca-Cola intersection from inside Moti Jheel.

●Vehicles coming from Gopala Tiraha, Gastro Lever will not be able to turn left from Swaroop Nagar Tiraha and take right U-turn from Marchari Cut and go towards Paliwal Mariampur beyond Narendra Mohan bridge. Such vehicles will be able to reach their destination via the roundabout from the service road on the left side of the bridge.
