Kanpur: Four lane road will be built on Thailand model till Mandhana-Shuklaganj, besides being durable, the tires of vehicles will wear less.

Kanpur News: In Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the 17 kilometer long four-lane road from Mandhana to Lucknow Highway via Ganga Barrage will be constructed using rubber process, which will make the road durable and the tires of vehicles will also wear less. Along with this, there will be ease in traffic. This technique is used in Thailand. Officials of the Public Works Department are preparing to use this technology in the construction of four-lane roads. Permission for this has been sought from the headquarters. According to officials, the 17 kilometer stretch of Mandhana, Bithoor, Shuklaganj will be made four lane at a cost of Rs 162 crore. Presently this road has two lanes, its width is 7.5 meters. While making four lanes, a divider will be made in the middle, after which the width of one side of the divider will be 8.5 meters. A 2-2 meter footpath will also be built on both sides of the four lane. With this the traffic system will be able to operate in a better way.

Quality road at low cost

In order to build quality roads at low cost, the Public Works Department has taken the initiative to build roads using Thai technology. According to senior officials of the Public Works Department of Kanpur, rubber trees are found in abundance in Thailand. The rubber produced from these is used in road construction.

This keeps road and traffic operations smooth. Also, the possibility of vehicle tires getting damaged is minimal. For the construction of four-lane road, a plan is being prepared to make 10 percent of it using rubber technology. This technology will be used after permission from the headquarters.
