Kanpur: Fine of Rs 25,000 will be imposed for using plastic in Durga pandal, committee may blacklist.

This time Durga Puja is being organized in more than two dozen pandals of Kanpur city. Even before Durga Puja, the Municipal Corporation has issued an order. If plastic glasses, bowls etc. are found being used in the Durga pandals of the city, the Municipal Corporation will impose a fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 25,000 on the committee. Not only this, the organizing committee can also be blacklisted, due to which they will not be allowed to organize the program next year. At the same time, the Municipal Corporation officers are giving permission for the event to be held at any place or park of the Corporation on the condition that the committee will not use plastic.

There will also be responsibility for cleanliness at the end of the program

According to Anirudh Singh, Officer-in-Charge (Property) of Kanpur Municipal Corporation, permission for events to be held in the park or at any place of the Municipal Corporation is being given on the condition that plastic will not be used. At the same time, they will also have to do complete cleaning after the program is over. Shri Sarbojanin Durgotsav Committee of Naveennagar, Kakadev has been given permission to organize the 54th Durga Puja program at Model Town Park. In this, Shri Durga Puja is organized from 20th to 24th October and the items have been asked to be removed on 25th. Along with this, the use of plastic glasses, plates, bowls etc. is completely prohibited. The condition in the permission is that the institution will comply with the government order issued on 15 July 2018. Under this, the use of plastic glasses, plates, bowls etc. is completely prohibited during the function. If any violation is found during investigation, action will be taken. Besides this, fine will also be imposed.

This is how the fine will be imposed

●One thousand on 100 grams of plastic.

●Two thousand from 101 grams to 500 grams.

●Five thousand from 501 grams to one kilo.

●10 thousand from one kg to five kg.

●Finding more than this will result in a fine of Rs 25,000.
