Kanpur: 5th convocation of HBTU today, Chancellor Anandiben Patel will honor 44 meritorious students with medals.

Kanpur News: The 5th convocation of Harcourt Butler Technical Institute (HBTU) is being celebrated on Friday in Kanpur district of the state. Governor Anandi Ben Patel will preside over the convocation ceremony. Today in the convocation ceremony, 44 meritorious people will be honored with 47 medals. Degrees will be given to 713 students. For the first time in the ceremony, students of the Department of Chemical Engineering have won the Supreme Chancellor’s Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals of the University. Abhishek Ojha will be given the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, Khushi Rastogi will be given the Chancellor’s Silver Medal and Devanshi Tiwari will be given the Chancellor’s Bronze Medal. Out of 47 medals, 31 medals will be given to boys and 16 to girl students.

Program will start in Shatabdi Bhavan

HBTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Shamsher told that the convocation ceremony will start in the Shatabdi Bhawan of the university. The chief guest was University alumnus and Director of IIT Roorkee, Prof. Will be KK Pant. Pro. KK Pant is a student of the 1987 batch of Chemical Engineering of the University. Pro. Shamsher told that till now the paper in which a student was caught cheating used to get zero marks. But now there will be zero marks in all subjects.

B.Tech Architecture will start in the university

Pro. Shamsher told that there are preparations to start B.Tech Architecture and Pharmacy departments in the university from the next session. Students from all over the world will be able to come to study in the university. The university has reserved five percent seats for Uttar Pradesh and other states and five percent seats for foreign students under supernumerary. Applications are coming in the session from Nepal, Bangladesh, Africa, Sri Lanka.

Girls win in CSJMU medals

Earlier on Thursday, the 38th convocation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University was concluded, in which 55 meritorious students won a total of 98 medals. Out of which only girls got 63 medals. For the first time in the convocation in CSJMU, a student of professional course got the highest medal of the university. Till now the arts faculty has been dominant. In the last convocation, B.Ed student Radha Gupta had received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal.
