Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, is now going to contest the assembly by-elections. Yes, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has officially announced that Kalpana Murmu Soren will contest the elections from Gandey.
JMM officially declares Kalpana Soren as candidate
Kalpana Soren was constantly visiting Gandeya. It was clear from this that only Hemant Soren’s wife would contest the assembly by-election from here, but her name had not been announced yet. But, now the party has officially declared him as its candidate. Let us tell you that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made Dilip Verma its candidate from Gandey. The main opposition party had announced its candidate for the by-election on March 29 itself.
Kalpana Murmu Soren will file nomination for by-election on April 29.
Even before the announcement of Kalpana Soren’s candidature, JMM District President of Giridih Sanjay Singh had started preparations for her nomination. He had made it clear that on April 29, Kalpana Murmu Soren will file nomination from Gandey Assembly. On that day, there will be an election meeting at Paparvatand football ground, in which Chief Minister Champai Soren and big leaders of JMM, Congress and RJD will attend.

Let us tell you that this seat had become vacant due to the resignation of Gandey MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. Sarfaraz Ahmed had resigned at a time when speculations were rife about the arrest of Hemant Soren in the alleged land scam case.

At the same time, Sarfaraz Ahmed resigned and the discussion had intensified that if the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team arrested Hemant Soren in the alleged land scam case, then Kalpana Soren would become the Chief Minister of Jharkhand in place of her husband. But, opposition started in the Soren family itself. Basant Soren did not say anything openly, but Sita Soren, elder daughter-in-law of Shibu Soren and wife of late JMM leader Durga Soren, opposed it. After this, the matter of making Kalpana the CM went on hold.
JMM sends former Gandey MLA Sarfaraz to Rajya Sabha
Let us tell you that later JMM gave Rajya Sabha ticket to former Gandey MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. Sarfaraz Ahmed was elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed. When ED arrested Hemant Soren on January 31, Kalpana Soren’s political activity increased significantly. Recently, Kalpana had taken command of the Ulgulan Nyaya Maharally organized at Prabhat Tara Maidan in the capital Ranchi.

Many big leaders of the anti-Modi alliance INDIA participated in this successful rally held on April 21 at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Ranchi. Kalpana Soren herself had called all these leaders and invited them to come to Ranchi to participate in the Maharally. It was on his initiative that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and other leaders came to Ranchi.
