He has said in the application that according to social customs, his sister’s marriage was fixed with Dinesh Toppo, son of late Jugal Kishore Toppo, resident of Patratoli village of Ranchi Thakurgaon police station. After distributing the invitation cards, the groom Dinesh Toppo suddenly started demanding a bike and Rs 2.5 lakh. If his demands were not fulfilled, he started blackmailing her by saying that he would not marry her. The wedding was on 15th March. A lot of effort was made to convince the groom. Many people explained that dowry is not acceptable in the tribal society, but she refused to bring the wedding procession.
