JSW Group will make EV and battery in Odisha, a project worth Rs 40,000 crore

JSW Group, one of India’s leading conglomerates, has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha. Under this agreement, JSW Group will have an integrated Electric Vehicle (EV) And will set up EV battery manufacturing project. This project will provide employment to more than 11,000 people with an investment of Rs 40,000 crore.

The project will include a 50 GWh EV battery plant, EV, lithium refinery, copper smelter and related component manufacturing units. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Dev, 5T Initiative Chairman V.K. Pandian, JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal, senior officials of the Government of Odisha, representatives of major industry associations, technical and professional educational institutions and other dignitaries were present.
