Mothers will keep fast in Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga

Astrologer Veda Prakash Shastri Told that women will observe Nirjala fast of Jivitputrika (Jiutiya) for unbroken good fortune, good wishes for their sons, long life and increase in descendants. On this day, an idol of Jimutavahana is made from Kush and worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Durga. Mothers will give Dakshina to Brahmins or qualified Pandits after listening to the story of Jimutvahana. On this day, after taking bath in other holy rivers including Ganga, they will consume Madua Roti, Noni Saag, Kanda, Jhighani, Karmi etc. After bathing and eating, the devotees will also worship their ancestors. The fasting women will end this Mahavrat with Kerava. He told that donating food before breaking this fast leads to destruction of poverty and increase in wealth.

Jiutiya on 6th October and Paran on 7th

A meeting of scholars was organized by the Bharatiya Vidya Parishad on Tuesday in Gaya district of Bihar. The meeting was presided over by Council Chairman Acharya Lalbhushan Mishra. He said that the scriptures were churned out to clear the confusion about Jivitputrika (Jiutiya) fast. It became clear from the observation of many religious texts that the fast of this fast will be observed on Friday, 6th October and Paran will be observed after 10.21 am on Saturday, 7th October. 6th October is Ashtami Tithi in Pradosh period. But October 7 is not Ashtami Tithi in Pradosh period. Therefore, Jitiya’s fast will be observed on October 6 only.
