Jio AI: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Jio Platforms wants to lead the development efforts of India-centric Artificial Intelligence (AI) models and AI-powered solutions in various sectors to enable the country’s citizens, businesses and government to lead a new era. Ambani spoke of the company’s commitment to set up up to 2,000 MW of AI-enabled computing capacity, both in the cloud and at the edge, citing sustainable practices and moving towards a greener future.

Mukesh Ambani said that AI revolution at the global level is reshaping the whole world and its sensible use will work to redefine and revolutionize industries, economies and even everyday life. Ambani said that to remain competitive at the global level, India should use AI for innovation, growth and national prosperity. He said, this is my promise to my countrymen. Seven years ago, Jio promised to provide broadband connectivity to everyone, everywhere. We have fulfilled this promise. Today Jio promises AI to everyone, everywhere. And we will get it done. Within the Reliance Group, talent and capabilities are also being augmented to rapidly absorb the latest global innovations in AI, especially recent advances in Generative AI.
Government can get benefits of AI technology equally
Reliance Chairman said, Jio Platforms wants to lead the effort to develop AI-driven solutions in India-specific AI models and domains to bring the benefits of AI technology to Indian citizens, businesses and government alike. Ambani said that India has great talent, data and scale for this. But we also need digital infrastructure in India that can handle the massive demands of AI, he said. He said Reliance plans to convert most of its energy consumption in connectivity and digital services over the next five years to green energy, which is eco-friendly as well as low-cost.
