Jharkhand: Yogendra Tiwari made illegal income of Rs 14.77 crore by selling sand and land.

Ranchi: Yogendra Tiwari invested the illegal earnings from sand and land trade in liquor trade. He collected Rs 9.15 crore in cash from illegal sale of sand and Rs 5.62 crore in cash by selling Rai Bungalow land. The real value of Rai Bungalow’s land was hidden in its sale. The price shown in the sale deed was paid through cheque. The remaining 50 percent amount was paid in cash. 12 buyers paid Rs 5.62 crore in cash to people of Yogendra Tiwari Group. This illegal income from sand and land was deposited in the accounts of 11 companies involved in liquor trade. Also, it was used to pay the license fees. These facts have been mentioned in the charge sheet filed by ED.

In the ED allegation letter, it has been said that Yogendra Tiwari has two wives. The name of one wife is Neetu Tiwari and the name of the other is Durba Paul. Anil Singh, Prantosh Mishra, Akhilesh Singh, Anand Singh, Basukinath and others are associates of Yogendra. According to the report, Yogendra Tiwari has formed 23 partnership firms. Of these, Yogendra Tiwari and his family members are partners in 13. His associates and employees are partners in these business organizations. The participation of Tiwari’s family members in the firm ranges from 55 to 80 percent. The remaining participation is of its associates and employees. Employees have been given participation up to two percent.

Yogendra Tiwari is in liquor business since 2003

Yogendra Tiwari is in the liquor business since 2003. Earlier he used to do liquor retail business. Later he got involved in wholesale trade. He started liquor business in 1989 as a partner of Harikesh Tiwari’s company Mihijam Wine Agency. In the year 2005, Yogendra started his own liquor business in the name of Swastik Traders. From 2009 to 2012, he also did wholesale liquor business in the name of Dhanbad Wines. From 2012-17, he ran 70-80 retail liquor shops through establishments named after him and his associates. In 2019, he obtained licenses for 40-50 liquor retail shops. During the period 2019-22, it obtained a liquor manufacturing license in the name of Mayhar Developers. Product policy changed in 2021. During this period he obtained licenses for 14 wholesale liquor businesses. In March 2022, the government again changed the product policy. After this Yogendra Tiwari did not do liquor business. ED investigation found that during the period when he made illegal sale of sand and sold the land of Rai Bungalow, Rs 11.56 crore cash was deposited in his companies.

According to the charge sheet, he is involved in sand business since the financial year 2015-16. In 2015-16, its eight companies had 23 sand ghats. The sand ghats were acquired through auction for three years. In 2017-18, 11 companies associated with it got sand dealers license. The state government implemented the Mine Developer and Operator (MOD) policy in 2018. In this, Yogendra’s company M/s Saran Alcohol got the work of MOD. During this sand business, he earned Rs 9.15 crore illegally by selling 30.53 lakh cft sand.

Illegal income from sale of Rai Bungalow

Yogendra Tiwari had created a WhatsApp group for buying and selling the land of Rai Bungalow. This group included Abhishek Jha, Munnam Sanjay, Vivek, Lutan Singh, Gopal Singh and others. During ED’s investigation, details of illegal income from the sale of Rai Bungalow land were found from the WhatsApp chats recovered from the mobile phones of Lutan Singh, Abhishek Anand Jha and Vivek. In the chats of these people, details of payments made through checks and cash payments by land buyers are recorded. The price of land shown in the sale deed has been paid through cheque. The price hidden in the deed has been paid in cash. The land of Rai Bungalow (26 Bigha, Panch Kattha, Seven Chhatank) belonged to Sachindra Nath Roy. Kamala Prasad Rai got 10 bighas and three kattas of land in the division among the heirs.

Kamla Prasad has one son (Dilip Rai) and three daughters (Preeti Singha Rai, Bharti Rai Choudhary, Bhaswati Konar). After the death of Kamala Prasad, the son made his claim on the basis of the will prepared by the father. The daughters declared the will wrong and claimed their rights. Amidst the controversies, Dilip sold 41 kattha land to Shashi Singh’s wife Kiran Singh. The family members and sisters of Dilip’s death together signed an MoU with Swastik Traders. Yogendra is a partner in this company. On the basis of this MOU, Yogendra Tiwari sold land to 12 people with the help of his associates. Cash payment was taken in this.
