Jharkhand will become Naxal free with the financial support of the Central Government, CM Hemant Soren said in Delhi

A meeting was held with the Chief Ministers of Naxal affected states including Jharkhand, organized by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren also participated in it. During this, Hemant Soren said that the problem of extremism has reduced in Jharkhand, but there is a need to continue the deputation of central paramilitary forces to ensure that it does not recur. The tenure of IG CRPF deputed in the state should be kept at least 3 years, so that there is continuity in the Naxal campaign. Let us tell you that the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, UP and West Bengal also participated in this meeting. It was told that apart from the CM, senior top officials of the state also participated in the meeting.

Schemes should be run on a large scale: Hemant Soren

It was said in the meeting that to ensure that the problem of extremism does not recur, it is necessary that development-oriented schemes be run on a large scale in these areas, for which the state will need resources. The Naxalites had made Budha Pahad of the state their shelter. This area was beyond the reach of the state government, but with the help of the central government, this area has been freed from Naxalites. A police camp has been established there. On 12 October 2022, the district administration organized the program “Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar” in Budha Pahad. On January 27, 2023, I went to Budha Pahad and talked to the villagers. Development work has been started in six panchayats there.

8 lakh beneficiaries deprived of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Hemant Soren said that I would like to draw your attention towards the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In Jharkhand, about 8 lakh eligible beneficiaries are still deprived of the benefits of this scheme. Positive decision is not being taken even after request. It is requested that these 8 lakh beneficiaries of Jharkhand should be given their rights. In order to spend the DMFT amount, the Government of India is going to make changes in the route guide. Due to which Jharkhand may have to face practical problems.

Provide required support to the state: Hemant Soren

Jharkhand is not receiving the expected support from banks for development, which is reflected in the state’s CD Ratio being only 45%. Whereas the national average is around 67%. Due to this non-cooperative attitude of the banks, the people of the state are being deprived of the benefits of investments worth lakhs of crores of rupees. On the contrary, even small loan facilities are not being provided to the candidates of ST community of the state by the banks. My request is to direct all the banks to provide required support to the state, so that the problem of extremism does not flourish here again.
